During a speech a few months ago, Governor Romney even explained his energy policy this way: ‘You can’t drive a car with a windmill on it. That’s what he said about wind power. ‘You can’t drive a car with a windmill on it.’ I wonder if he actually tried that, I know he’s tied other things to his car.

President Obama

Burn.

(via resurrecthobbes)

You could drive a car with a solar panel on it. And there’s probably a way to harness wind power from driving at high speeds. Of course learning how to do that would require investment in education and science, which are evil liberal values. Green energy: there are options!

But yeah. Siiiiick burn.

Bravo!
I’m so sick of hearing Tea Party supporters whine about “people on government assistance” - yet you never hear them crying about corporate welfare.

Is this person’s name really Duchess St. Rollins? Because that’s a fucking awesome name.

God, this is so beautiful.

Omg, so well spoken!  Bravo!

I would totally make out with Duchess St. Rollins. Hallelujah.

Rick Santorum launched a new website and we need to tumblr bomb it!!

lgbtlaughs:

iamateenagefeminist:

Rick Santorum has launched a new “campaign” to help get Obama out of office. This is the official website. It features a poll asking people what they think about Obama. I think it would be hilarious if we got it to read “very favorable”.

Come on tumblr! Bomb this poll!!

If you keep going through, you’ll find questions on “internet piracy”, Planned Parenthood, Obama, gay people in the military…

…tumblrbomb this jerk.

I guess it goes to show the leanings of the segment of the Internet most concerned with political matters.

The white man came and destroyed a beautiful culture and raped a beautiful land

Lol want to see me get hate mail? Here goes!
1) The “white man”? America was a mix of races. Spaniards, French, English, Irish, etc. Do not blame this on the “white man”.

All of them are white people.  All of whom were operating under a a social construct that has no basis in culture or biology. Since Europeans were “caucasoid” and at the advent of colonialism, they had every reason to develop philosophies, laws and attitudes which would help keep them at the top of the pile and all those pesky coloured folks at the bottom.
For that matter, there are many white people who, at the time, were not considered “white.”  ”How The Irish Became White,” examines how this dynamic of racial superiority plays out.
Furthermore, every single group you named participated just as gleefully in the colonization and slaughter of indigenous peoples.  Why should I care that the people who fought with my ancestors were German and not Swedish?  Moniyaw is Moniyaw.
Tough shit.

It was the American Government expanding their land. In the way was people who played with sticks and stones and had an extreme weakness to fire water.

It was an official policy of continental colonialism that sought to literally eradicate indigenous inhabitants.
Indigenous inhabitants who, at the time, had access to firearms as Custer famously experienced at Little Bighorn.  Hardly sticks and stones, but unfortunately, not as effective as things like germ warfare.  The reason the Powhatan Confederacy didn’t wipe Jamestown off the map was because it was so diseased they were afraid to go near it.
However, don’t let that stop you from appealing to your racist colonial essentialisms
A weakness to firewater? Fuck you.  Not only is this some seriously racist bullshit, it’s been debunked so many times by so many different people that there is really little sense in addressing it further.

There was a war. A bloody, disgusting war. Did it suck? Yes. Did BOTH sides commit heinous crimes? Yes. But doesn’t that shit happen in EVERY war?

I’m pretty sure Indians never committed genocide against white settlers.
Pretty sure it was white settlers who wiped out the Pequot.
Pretty sure it was white American soldiers who slaughtered innocents at Wounded Knee.
Pretty sure it was white American soldiers who slaughtered innocents at Sand Creek.
Pretty sure it was white settlers who forced prosecuted the Indian Removal.
Pretty sure it was white settlers who wiped out the Beothuk
etc.

How did we “rape” a beautiful land? Because people moved here? What, did you want America to stay all forests and rivers?

I will never excuse the use of the word rape to describe anything other than rape.
However, the destruction? Obvious.
Example:

And can we cut it out with this idea that the Americas were empty, pristine wildernesses?  Indigenous peoples had complex agriculture, animal husbandry, houses, cities and communities spread across both continents.
In fact, if it weren’t for the fact that white people were essentially squatting in areas the Native Americans had built-up for human habitation and agriculture, they probably would have died horribly like every other attempt to settle North America.
just ask the Vikings how they felt about it. By all accounts, they were much tougher customers than a bunch of pilgrims.

If we had not of waged war for the land, do you honestly think NO ONE else would have? What about Mexico? The English across the sea? Or how about France?

Remember how you had to point out that all those “white people” came from different European countries?
Well, that’s exactly what happened.  The English and the French started it here.  The Spanish and the Porteguese in Mesoamerica and South America.  That the United States and Canada inherited what the English and the French already started hardly matters.
That they accelerated it is incontestable.

No, somebody would have come along and massacred them. Only they wouldn’t have given them reservations to keep. They would have destroyed their entire race.

The world is vexing enough without entertaining the boring hypotheticals of ignorant racists.
The probability of “someone else” doing it doesn’t excuse the fact that the United States did.
but good thing y’all are so fucking generous as to give us reservations.

Where are their “memorials”? They have an ENTIRE month. November. Native American History Month.
Now, lets watch the unfollowing begin.

Yeah, great, a whole month to make up for 500 years of colonialism, genocide, exploitation, rape, slavery, forced relocation and racism.
The best part?
Bet you couldn’t tell me the first fucking thing about “Native American History” could you?  So fat lot of good that glorious month is doing, hey?
keep it basic, moniyaw.

”They have a whole month!!1”. That counterpoint was far more eloquent than such a calloused “argument” deserves. “Oh man, people are going to unfollow me for justifying genocide.”

Ahhh! A politically incorrect stereotypical dumb blonde against a pissed off Native who actually has some idea of what they’re about. Good stuff.
I read that most of the 100 million were killed by diseases that they had no immunity against, though.

That awkward moment when you intend to write “pwn” but accidentally type “own”.

If you don’t get why this is ironic, you haven’t been on the Internet for long enough.
